Borroworrob: In many ways every artistic work is posed in relation to another force. This activity is already spatial. A question borrows space from the space that it questions, but this also robs the space it questions of its own space, sometimes a lot, sometimes just a little – doubling it, turning it inside out – returning symmetry to asymmetry. For this exhibition, Macapia brings together various questions concerning space, including economics, engaged urban research, and history.

interview/text: Elaine Ritchel: FILM AND THE SCRIPTED WORLD: MULTIMEDIA ARTIST ANA HUŠMAN
For multimedia artist and filmmaker Ana Hušman, socially constructed interactions are a constant source of fascination and creative inspiration, and film is the perfect media to examine these scripted behaviors.
text: Jasna Jakšić – On total work of art, dismantled /// Ricerche di S/Confine, Dossier 2 (2013)
The point of departure is the notion of “total work of art” coined more or less in times when the nation state and, consequently, national art were invented. But, just like the totality of artistic experience, once established, has been dismantled, works by Ana Hušman, Lala Rascic, Ivana Franke, David Maljković, Damir Očko, and Fokus grupa (Iva Kovač and Elvis Krstulovic), questioning perception, identity construction, modernist past and present of permanent transition, language and its performativity, do not corroborate national self-presentation in contemporary art.

The exhibition ”Women Commentators” in the Centre for Contemporary Art Ujazdowski Castle is dedicated to the art of the young generation of female artists who comment on current political, social and artistic affairs through their art. Main criteria for the selection of pieces for the exhibition include the strength of the artist’s position on the chosen subject, as well as the artistic presentation of conclusions and personal reflections on topics considered uncharacteristic as they relate to women. Since these pieces are not anonymous, they constitute remarkably brave comments on each particular issue. The exhibition will be accompanied by a range of events, such as the night screening of documentary films made by women filmmakers, presented and awarded at Planete+ Doc Film Festival.
